Activities Unlimited – Terms and Conditions
Effective Date: June 2, 2025
1. Overview
Welcome to Activities Unlimited (AU). AU is a service of Education Unlimited Network providing activities for home educating students and families in Alberta. AU operates via an online platform activitiesunlimited.ca (the "website") that facilitates the promotion and registration for various educational, recreational, sporting, and extracurricular events including but not limited to field trips, tours, and courses for school-aged children and youth registered in an education program of study in Alberta.
By registering for membership or using our platform, you agree to the terms set forth in this policy. These Terms and Conditions form a binding agreement between you (the member or parent/guardian of a participating child) and Activities Unlimited.
2. Membership User Accounts and Access
2.1 Eligibility
Membership is on a family basis and open to parents or legal guardians of school-aged children registered in a home education program of study in Alberta. Children and youth as defined in Alberta's Education Act and their immediate family members (parents or legal guardians, grandparents, and non-school aged siblings) are eligible to be added as individuals to the family membership.
2.2 Membership Account Registration
To access and register for events, users must create a membership account through the Activities Unlimited website. All information provided during registration must be accurate and kept up to date.
All users must verify their email address upon registration before logging in for the first time. Unverified accounts will not have access to any platform features.
2.3 Membership Fees
Membership may be subject to a recurring annual fee as specified at the time of sign-up. Fees are posted on the website and are subject to change with reasonable notice.
Membership Fees are waived at the time of registration for families whose children are registered with Education Unlimited Network (EUN), an Alberta Education accredited, funded school for the current academic year on September 30th.
2.4 Updating Membership Account Information
For user information and security purposes, changes must be confirmed using a One-Time Passcode (OTP). Information changes requiring an OTP include, but may not be limited to, updating an email address or phone number. The OTP will be sent to the user's registered email or mobile phone via SMS (text) Message.
Successful OTP verification is required for changes to be completed.
2.5 Login Security & Account Lockout
To prevent unauthorized access, the following account lockout policy is in effect:
- After 3 failed login attempts, the account will be locked for 15-minutes.
- A security notification email will be sent with instructions for unlocking the account.
- Users can set up a secret question and answer for self-service account recovery (unlocking or password reset).
- Password Requirements: enforcing strong passwords 8+ characters, and special symbols.
For account-related issues, users may submit a request via the website contact form.
2.6 Membership Duration and Renewal
Memberships are valid for the current academic year and expire on August 31st. A grace period of 2-months (through October 31st) will be provided to allow for renewal at the start of the following year.
All other membership terms and renewal conditions will be detailed during the sign-up process. Members are responsible for renewing their memberships to maintain activitiesunlimited.ca account access.
Users must renew their membership, agree to the latest Terms and Conditions, and sign the Waiver annually to maintain account access and register for Events.
